Happy Valentine's Day or Happy Love Day, as I like to say! I hope it has been a day full of joy and butterflies for you. For me, it has been a not so pleasant day. A roller coaster kind of day. As a matter of fact, no one in the house has been in a particularly good mood today...and I can't really say why. Wait a minute. Yeah, I can. Maybe it has something to do with our impending move.
Moving stresses all of us out. Packing and sorting and discarding. Oh, boy. I'm really not looking forward to moving day. Then, me or my daughter will say something like, "See, this is why we all need to become minimalists." And I think we're right. I'm excited to be on the other side of this move.
However, I can say that I didn't mind today being such a beautiful day. Usually, when the weather is abnormally warm in winter, I complain. Usually, I'm like, "Where's my winter weather?" Winter is my favorite season. I love the cold. I love gray skies. Today, though, I didn't feel cheated by the seventy-plus degrees. I thought the bright blue skies and warm air would completely lift my mood and clear my lungs. And it did, temporarily. As I breathed in the fresh air, soaked up the sun rays, listened to the melodious birds, and watched as butterflies flitted across the yard, joy ran through me like a babbling brook.
Despite my current mood, I love seeing all the Valentine's Day preparations. I love seeing guys picking out flowers and balloons at Kroger. Yes, love is in the air. The last few days, you wanna know what else has been in the air? allergens. I have asthma and suffer horribly from allergies-ALL kinds. I was in such a bad state that I broke down and took an allergy pill- that didn't work. So, that only frustrated me more.
It's 10:40 PM. As I prepare for bed, I pray for a better day tomorrow. I pray for less itchy eyes. I pray for complete relief. I'm actually excited about being done with today. I know, I know. That's exactly the opposite of how I should be thinking, but I'm being honest. You want the truth, right?
I just ate one piece of chocolate Russell Stover Valentine's Day candy and brushed my teeth. Oh, did I tell you? Dinner was beyond delicious. We had spaghetti with lots of sauce and cheese, with meatballs- something we usually don't have. I had a roll on the side. It was SO good.
I'm ready for bed now. I'm ready to wake up renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated. Some days, you just have to say, "I'll try again tomorrow."
Sweet dreams! Thanks for listening.
Blessings and love,
Leya Allen
